Miao people cerebrate this festival to pray for good luck, good harvest for the coming years, we can say for the coming 112 years. Miao people also use 12 different animals to name different years in order to  remember them easily. It's a good time and chance to meet relative, friends, and family members by playing music intruments and singing songs. It's a secret festival, outsiders can't know the festival until one month before. The headman of the villages do not hope too many tourists appear in the festival, but they are happy to see some. It is the same way to other Miao tribes among hills of Guizhou.
