Day 1 Guiyang Arrival & Guiyang/ Anshun

Welcome to Guiyang, the beautiful “City of Forest” and provincial capital of Guizhou! Upon your arrival, your local guide and driver will meet you at the airport or railway station in Guiyang, escort you to your hotel in Anshun City and help you check in. Stay overnight in Anshun.

Day 2 Anshun - Huangguoshu Waterfall –Dragon Palace- Anshun

Visit Huangguoshu in the morning and visit Dragon Palace in the afternoon.

After breakfast, drive about 40 minutes to Anshun for today’s trip to Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is the largest waterfall in Asia. You will appreciate different views of the waterfall, especially go behind the waterfall and see how water starts dropping and touch the waterfall.

Visit Doupotang Scenic Area which is one of the shooting places of well-known TV series of one of the four Chinese literature classics - “Pilgrimage to the West”. Walk pleasantly there to appreciate the 105 meters wide and 21 meters high waterfall formed on the more than 100 meters calcific beach bar, which dumps from the top giant pool of 15 thousand square meters wide. As the waterfall always roars strongly during flooding period, it is also named “Roaring Waterfall”.

Next, take the sightseeing vehicle to have a close admiration of Tianxingqiao Scenic Area. Catch all its essences of Karst landscape to know why it is complimented as a fairyland of Karst ecology miniature landscape with different sceneries at different angles and idyllic environment of birds and flowers, water and mountain, forest and cave, etc. Here you will watch the stone of forest of 0.4 square kilometers grows on water with verdant undershrub and cactus, meet the Beauty Banyan looks like a beautiful lady with graceful posture, have an enjoyable stroll in Heavenly Star Cave to see the diverse shaped Karst stalagmites, columns, flowers, etc. with multiple lights, with some looking like fishes, chicken, rice terraces, and so on. You will also enjoy the view of the Waterfall of Silver Chain Dropping to the Pool to see its shimmering water branches falling like thousands of silver chains, white wedding veil, lotus leaves, etc. during different seasons.

Then, take the sightseeing vehicle to see the iconic Huangguoshu Waterfall of 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide. With such magnificent and shocking scenery, it is the No.1 largest waterfall in whole Asia and one of the most famous waterfalls around the world. Walk around the waterfall to admire its distinct landscape from different angles and feel its breathtaking roaring of falling into the 17 meters deep shoal. Besides, you will encounter with more inspiring places including the 134 meters dragon-like Water Curtain Cave behind the waterfall, more than 3,000 excellent bonsais displayed exquisitely in the bonsai garden, and more to feel the grand sight of the large scenic area.

Lunch on the way to Dragon Palace.

It takes only 30 minutes, we can reach Dragon Palace.

This 60 square kilometers wide National AAAAA Tourist Area is praised as “the world of Karst shows all in Dragon Palace” with perfect collection of marvelous caves, canyons, waterfalls, peaks, cliffs, rivers, stone forest, funnel, underground river and other different Karst geological landscape all together. You will visit the Tianchi Lake formed by the collapse of roof of Karst cave and is tested as the place with the lowest radiation dose rate in the whole world and is a great refreshing place with lots of negative oxygen ions for physical benefits. Followed by is a visit of the powerful Dragon Gate Waterfall pouring from that lake from 50 meters high position to be the largest Karst cave waterfall in China.

You will absolutely take a boat to enter the Karst First and Second Entrance of Dragon Palace to immerse into the colorful underground palace of various shaped stalactites in fabulous lightings hanging above by nature, which looks just like the amazing crystal living palace of the holy Dragon King in Chinese legends and myths. Then, walk to Guanyin Cave to see how nature has created the over 50 meters high stalactite similar to the Goddess of Mercy in the so large entire natural Karst cave. If time permits, continue to walk around the Rotating Pond that is 101 meters in diameter and a typical Karst funnel landform. Keep your eyes on it since its water magically rotates clockwise without any wind blows ceaselessly day and night every year, driving the floating duckweed to dance with it together in tune. That is truly a strange but wonderful miracle in the entire country.    

After the visiting, your guide and driver will escort you back to the hotel in Anshun City.

Day3 Anshun-Libo

After a drive of 3.5 hours, we arrive at Xiaoqikong, we lunch near the gate of scenic spot and start our Xiaoqikong visiting this afternoon.

Small Seven Arches Scenic Area (Xiaoqikong), the core of South China Karst in Libo for the primitive spectacles of hills, stream, forests, caves, lakes and waterfall matching a quaint fairyland in reality! You will catch all the best landscape highlights by leisure walking and scenic sightseeing vehicle. Have a glimpse of the symbolic Small Seven Hole Bridge often showing on the photos of Xiaoqikong. The bridge of 40 meters long and 2.2 meter wide from 1835 AD looks serene and quaint with the verdant ancient trees on both banks. Walk to Laya Waterfall to see the real look of the charming water flying from the mountain like the pure dress of a lady. With cool spray from the waterfall, the dotted Karst stones on water and jade green mountain background, this site is extremely idyllic for the best mood for a trip! Continue to roam along the 1.6 kilometers long 68-layer Waterfall to soak in the poetic natural sonata of 68 levels of diverse styles of waterfalls and drops with the bright flowers, virid forests, chirping of birds, etc. embracing your. Next, continue your exploration of the Xiangshui River with roaring waterfall scenery, luxurious Forest on Water with verdant trees and shrubs growing in water, Nuneijihai Wetland reputed as the kidney of the Earth, Wolong Pond with peaceful bluish green clear water and pearls like waterfall, etc. (Note: Boating at Yuanyang Lake needs extra charge.)  

After Xiaoqikong, we visit the Large Seven Arches Scenic Area (Daqikong) which is popular to admire the canyon scenery on Karst landform. Take a pleasant walk along the plank bridge to embrace the primitive forests, winder emerald river, dotted rocks in water, exposed cliffs, etc. for an exciting exploration of the precipitous and pretty resort. Continue your walk deeper to the Natural Bridge of 73 meters high, 15 meters thick and 22 meters wide, which was originated  3.6-2.9 million years ago and shows the terrific creativity of nature with its wonderful outlook of a stone bridge. Walk back along the opposite bank to appreciate the sightseeing you past just now and walk through the natural Bridge.  After the visiting, your local guide and driver will send you to your hotel in Kaili and help you check in! Overnight in Libo

Day4 Libo-Jiabang-Zhaoxing

In this morning, you’ll take a long drive of 3 hours from Libo to Jiabang terraces. Jiabang Rice Terrace, cultivated by the Miao people, is one of the most beautiful and the most mysterious rice terrace in China. It is composed of 10,000 acres, scattered in Dangniu, Jiaye, Jiache, Congkai, Pingyin, Jiabang, Baibei and Baidang villages. Every morning, when the cloud and mist rise above the river and field, Jiabang Rice Terrace become a fairyland on earth. Start your visit from Dangniu Rice Terrace where you can see the rice terrace layer upon layer stretching from the valley to the hill, walk a little to Jiaya Rice Terrace with beautiful curves; move another 2 kilometers to Jiache Village and catch the best panorama at the viewing platform, and visit the magnificent Yangsongling Rice Terrace to view the screw terrace. (Note: Go April to early May for mirror-like irrigated terrace and rice transplanting scene; go in May for clouds with mists scene, go from May to mid-September for green terraces; go late September to early-October for golden and harvest scene.)

After Jiabang visiting, we drive to Zhaoxing, explore Zhaoxing Dong village.

Zhaoxing has been selected as “one of the six most beautiful countryside in China” and together with its drum towers were listed into the Guinness World Records in 2001. It is divided into 5 natural small villages, living in five different areas - which are called “Tuan” locally. Besides, there are five drum towers, five Wind and Rain Bridges and five stages setting in the village.

Start your exploration from the village gate and get a top of the viewing platform to enjoy the panorama, where you can also clearly appreciate the five drum towers standing beautifully in the village. Afterwards, pay a visit to the Zhaoxing Dong Culture Museum to have a better understanding about Dong people and its culture in all aspects. Follow the route to visit Xin Tuan (means faith) with the highest drum tower at 25.9 meters, Zhi Tuan (means wisdom), Yi Tuan (means righteousness), Li Tuan (means Rritual) with the first drum tower in Zhaoxing built in 17th century and Ren Tuan (means benevolence). If weather permits, watch the famous Grand Song of Dong People and other interesting programs.

Overnight in Zhaoxing

Day5 Zhaoxing-Zhenyuan-Xijiang

After the breakfast at hotel, you’ll be escorted to Zhenyuan Ancient Town (about 110 km from Matang Village, for 2 hours’ driving). With a history of more than 2,200 years, Zhenyuan Ancient Town features hundreds of ancient buildings in Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1912) Dynasties. The mother river called Wuyang River passes through the town in the shape of “S”, making the whole town look like Eight Diagrams and Zhenyuan is also reputed as “Oriental Venice”. Later, visit Tin Hau Temple in the architectural style of Southern Fujian. This temple has witnessed the flourishing period of Wuyang River waterway. Walk to Zhenjiang Pavilion which was built in Ming Dynasty situated in the west of the town. Have a nice stroll along the old alleys to appreciate traditional folk houses and the ancient wells. You won’t miss Sifangjing Alley. In this evening, enjoy the beautiful night view with gleaming colors along Wuyang River. (Optional experience: 1). Enjoy a 3-4 hours' hiking to Shiping Mountain, the highest point of the ancient city where you can have a breathtaking panoramic view of Zhenyuan Ancient Town and Wuyang River based on your energy, interest and time. 2.) Take a scenic boat sailing leisurely on Wuyang River to enjoy the dazzling night scene with numerous stone buildings by the river if you spend one night in Zhenyuan.)

You can take a peaceful walk in Zhenyuan Ancient Town. Walking through Zhusheng Bridge, the seven-hole blue stone arch bridge built in Ming Dynasty, you will get to Black Dragon Cave (also called Qinglong Cave). This is not simply a cave, but a ancient architectural complex of ancient temples, pavilions, shrines and palaces standing on Zhonghe Mountain. It well presents the Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism culture with the magnificent construction and layout. It is said that Zhang Sanfeng, the founder of Tai Chi, personally selected and involved in the construction of the temples. This scenic spot is composed of the following parts including the Zhusheng Bridge, Zhongyuan Temple, Ziyang Shuyuan (Academy of Classical Learning), Jade Emperor Pavilion, Longevity Palace and Xianglu Yan. After getting to the top of the cave, catch the appealing panorama of Zhenyuan Ancient Town and Wuyang River in charm and peace. The visit will be truly a cultural highlight during your Zhenyuan trip.

After we finish the visit in Zhenyuan, we keep going to Xijiang, which is often called Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, it is the largest Miao village in China and even in the world. It bears the title “thousand-household village” and now has 1432 households, which amount to a population of over 5000, of which 99.5% are Miao ethnic group.

Day6 Xijiang-Qingyan-Guiyang

Relax in Xijiang in the morning. Check out at noon. Leave Xijiang for Qingyan ancient town.

It takes 2.5 hours from Xijiang to Qingyan. We visit Qingyan in the afternoon and visit Jiaxiu in the evening.

You can go to visit Jiaxiu Pavilion in the evening, the symbol of Guiyang city with a history of more than 400 years. Standing on a rock on Nanming River, with two stone bridges linking, the wooden tower of 3 storey and 22.9 meters high is a must-see for visiting Guiyang. It is particularly appealing at sunset and night when the entire quaint tower is outlined clearly and ignited into orange and golden, against the dazzling night view of the surrounding modern skyscrapers of Guiyang city center! Take a nice walk along the river to enjoy the river wind and cityscape of Guiyang!

Also, you can walk to Cuiwei Garden at the south of the bridge to immerse into the rich elegant charm of the over 500 years old traditional classic garden with Jiangnan flavored courtyard and solemn temples. Roam in the garden to meet the quiet halls, pavilions, corridors, gardens, walls, rockeries, ponds, blossoms, bamboo forests, etc. linked harmoniously and interestingly for a traditional Chinese architectural and cultural savory!

After today’s visiting, be escorted to your hotel and stay overnight in Guiyang!

Day7 Guiyang Departure

After breakfast, you will be escorted to Guiyang airport or Guiyang Bei High Speed Railway Station.
