Kaili is the capital city of Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, it's also the center of Miao region. 1.Sisters' Meal Festival:
Date: May 1-2, 2026
Description: Celebrated by the Miao people, this festival is akin to a traditional matchmaking event. Miao girls prepare colorful rice dishes and present them to the boys they are interested in. It is considered one of the oldest "Valentine's Days" in China, featuring various cultural performances and activities.
Sister's Meal Festival: It is a traditional festival mainly for young Miao people to find their partners. It usually takes place in March of the lunar calendar. Girls prepare sister's meals, which are colorful glutinous rice balls with different fillings. Boys come to the girls' villages to sing antiphonal songs and exchange gifts with the girls. Through these interactions, they get to know each other better and choose their loved ones.
2.Lusheng Festival:
Date: February 10-26, 2026
Description: This festival is one of the most significant for the Miao community, where participants play the lusheng (a traditional reed instrument) and dress in their finest attire. The festival includes music, dance, and various competitions.
3. Dragon Canoe Festival:
